Godzilla Sized Feelings for Godzilla
Godzilla was a childhood obsession of mine. My poor parents suffered through numerous viewings of the movies as I grew up. The Americanized version of Godzilla 1985 was my jam, though I adore the 1956 version. I have no reasonable explanation for my unending love for a radioactive lizard hell bent on destruction, maybe it… Continue reading Godzilla Sized Feelings for Godzilla

Hey! Melissa here recapping what was an empowering female convention for us female nerds – GEEKGIRLCON 2013!

Captain America:The Winter Soldier Trailer Released
Yay! The trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier was just released by Marvel Studios! Out in theaters on April 4, 2014. This story takes place aver the cataclysmic event at the end of The Avengers movie, which they make humorous nods to in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as the Battle of New York. Well, it’s time to hold on to your hats people, The Wolverine is upon us. This time around we lose director Gavin Hood, currently directing Ender’s… Continue reading The Wolverine: The review
Comic-Con 2013: Hold the Mayo! The Sidekick Lands at Comic-Con
We featured The Sidekick as one of the five panels that should not be missed at this year’s Comic-Con, but were we right? The Sidekick follows super hero sidekick Max McCabe on a journey of self discovery after his disastrous final mission with Captain Wonder (played by a wonderfully dry Ron Livingston). Created as a way to cope with turning forty, actor-writer Rob Benedict successfully assembled a team of super-talented friends to help out with the film including Martin Starr, Lizzy Caplan, Richard Speight Jr., Jordan Peele, Jason Ritter, and Josh Meyers.
Review: World War Z: It’s Raining ZEDS!
“World War Z” has little to do with the beloved Max Brooks novel, so pretend the movie has a different title and save yourself some belly-aching. The film follows Brad Pitt (played by Brad Pitt) on a global adventure to investigate a rapidly spreading pandemic.
Review: Man of Steel – Superman Flies Again
Would Zack Snyder and crew be able to capture the “magic” of Superman or would the movie be another dud? I’m happy to say that while Man of Steel was not the movie I expected, it was certainly a bold take on the beloved hero worth seeing on the big screen.
