Upon arriving at PAX East on Friday morning I quickly followed the herd of anxious
enthusiasts to one of the longest lines I would wait in all weekend. After a few probing
questions, I discovered that I was in line to hear the keynote speaker of the convention,
and the more-exciting news, that speaker was Cliff Bleszinski.
Today we talk about the exit of Cliffy B, Fallout…MMO?, Mass Effect 3 Retaliation, and a new web series for some indie game called Halo 4. We review the new Resident Evil 6, Looper and revisit an old stand by in Lost. Finally we close it out with your NAQOTW’s for US (What a twist!).… Continue reading Rated NA 77: Husband Swap!
Epic Games had a huge presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con with both Gears of War: Judgement, and Fortnite showing off their goodies. Until this year’s SDCC, we knew very little of what Fornite was actually about, how it would look, or really, how in the heck it would play. Well, we have some great news for you, Fortnite looks super-slick and has the capacity to be more fun than any of us really deserve.
Quite possibly the biggest piece of gaming news in recent months was the rise and fall of 38 Studios. Virtually every gaming site on the planet has covered the event that will no doubt go down in gaming history as one gigantic cluster bomb of nasty. We actually talked about it on Rated NA:60 as well as Press to Reset: 45 – Like a chainsaw wielding white knight, North Carolina based Epic Games, creators of Unreal, Gears of War, and the upcoming Fort Night, have stepped into the ring as the heroes of this once awful and depressing tale. Take a look at the latest info straight from Dr. Capps and Epic. This is just awesome.
While I’m a self proclaimed Gears of War fanboy, the other nerds of NerdAppropriate aren’t riding the “cole train”… so to speak. The upcoming Gears of War DLC is the second of four DLC packs included with the season pass, the first of which launches on November 1st. Unlike the first horde-centric DLC, RAAM’s shadow… Continue reading Gears of War 3: Will You Venture Into RAAM’s Shadow?

If you’re too busy to read yet another glowing review of game, we liked it… a… Continue reading Gears of War 3: Weekend With Bernie! Horde Command Pack Details
As soon as I began to play the original GOW I realized that there was something about the game’s blend of action and tactics that set it apart from all other games in the genre. Over the years I’ve beaten both GOW campaigns with a wide various friends, family, and strangers, and still find the experience to be deeply satisfying. While some of the systems introduced in the original GOW were still in their relative infancy, the overall Gears experience was always spectacular. After playing a lot of Gears 3 over the past week I can honestly say that the Gears 1 and 2 were just an appitizer for the feast that is Gears of War 3.
A few weeks ago we put a quick blurb up on the site about Gears of War 3 writer Karen Traviss. We basically said that if her previous novels are anything like what we’ll be seeing in Gears of War 3, we’re in for a hell of a ride
New images and video of a “sexed up” Anya Stroud.
The Gears of War franchise has done a whole lot for multiplayer gaming including an incredible cover mechanic, horde mode, and more polish than the Heisman trophy. So why will Gears of War 3 change shooters forever? Two Words… Karen Traviss
